Kadoka pronounced kah-doe-kah; the name means hole in the wall. A Lakota word that can only describe a place where travelers must have needed a break in the journey before navigating a way through the Badlands. Year round visitors enjoy time hunting, exploring, and finding new hiking trails.
Kadoka Community Betterment Association is made up of many volunteers who contribute time and talents to organize and host events and beautification projects to enrich our community. We are always seeking new members. Board members are listed on the government page.
The Train Depot and Pearl Hotel each are located at the end of main street. Long ago they welcomed visitors as they debarked the train. Now the Depot is utilized as a museum and the Pearl Hotel is host to many events throughout the year. Compete with kitchen facilities and a gathering room, the Pearl is available for small venues.
